2004 Season
OC1:
Going into the State Championships, Anuenue standouts Aaron and Nappy have been joined by another member of the Napoleon family. As noted in Pacific Paddler magazine, David has been dominate in the Short Course races and currently has a string of four consecutive wins. Another regular long course winner has been the OC2 duo of Reina Garcia and Jackie Venuta. Long course paddlers Mike Hangai, Mike Silva, and Norm Bradley have continued to turn in strong performances with Mike H. a consistent top 15 finisher. Other Anuenue regulars on the circuit have been Cappy Sheeley, Gaylord Wilcox, and Pete Caldwell. In the first Relay event (Oahu Coastal relay), Aaron and partner Andy Penny finished fifth while the two Mikes (Hangai and Silva) came in tenth with Norm Bradley and Robi Solmson right behind in twelfth.

Big bumps and wind greeted almost 200 paddlers for the State race. David Napoleon topped off his season by leading the Short Course pack across the finish line. Gaylord Wilcox was first in the 60+ division, and the Reina/Jackie tandem were #1 in the women's OC2 category. In the long course, Aaron Napoleon finished seventh overall with Nappy and Cappy second and third respectively in the 60+ division. Well-done for all the finishers on a pretty wild day. Relay results: Molokai: Aaron and partner Patrick Dolan (seventh), Hangai/Silva 14th, David and Pauhi Iaone first in the mixed, Gaylord/Nappy first in 60+. Aaron teamed up with Kea Paiaina to take the Kauai Challenge title with Cappy /Nick Beck first in the 50+ division & David/Pauhi second in the mixed. Nappy/Gaylord became "legends" in the Maui Challenge by finishing 1st in the 40+ division. Solo Moloka'i: Mike Silva 15th, Mike Hangai 20th, David 29th and Nappy 1st in the 60+

Hamilton 2004:
Anuenue's GM crew joined a big contingent of Hawaiian paddlers for a trip down under for the Hamilton Cup. Highlights included a bonanza of medals in the first ever GM competition, some nice prize $$ thanks to Powerade, an appearance on Aussie TV, and three days of adventures exploring Sydney. Good on you, mates!
Regatta 2004:
With the McFarlane races coming up,consistent points and top three "A" division finish have been thanks to the younger set so far. On the adult side, men's Novice A, the GM " boys", and the men's open 4 have had their moments.
